Employment

Overall employment rate

In contrast with trends across both London and England, data suggests the proportion of working age adults in work has increased in Southwark in 2009 compared with 2008. However, although the gap is closing, it remains the case that the proportion of people in work is consistently lower in Southwark than in London or England; Southwark figures are also lower than in Lambeth or Lewisham.
