- Benchmark level of investment in stop smoking services to ensure sufficient resources are being invested into this area
- Ensure correct balance of outcomes from specialist, group and individual work
- Review and revise approaches to best achieve community outreach
- Ensure that hospital patients are being supported to quit smoking and that hospitals are skilled to provide the service
- Develop more collaborative working relationship with acute trusts as there is greater potential and incentive for people using acute services to access smoking cessation services both as part for reducing post operative complications and as part of holistic approaches to secondary prevention
